palmer's lip balm spf15

Winters are here and so is the season of dryness. I use a lip balm the entire year round since I have dry lips. Today, I am reviewing Palmer’s lip balm originalwith SPF 15 which was given to me by our very own Vishakha. Thank you so much for sending this one and all the other lovely products. Here’s my review on this product by Palmer’s 🙂 –

Price- Rs 130/- for 4 gm

About- Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm, enriched with Vitamin E and with the added benefit of SPF 15, helps prevent and also protect chapped, cracked or windburned lips. Moreover, smooth application and a convenient size make this the perfect year-round lip balm.

How to use-

  • Use a water resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating
  • Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure
  • Then reapply at least every 2 hours

Packaging- The Palmer’s lip balm original comes in a white plastic bullet which unlike other lip balms is not cylindrical but oval and has a flat body. It has a rotator below which on twisting gets the product out.

Earlier I was wondering why so many complications for a simple lip balm but the day I carried it in my jeans pocket I knew the resaon why. It just fits easily without bulging or popping out of your jeans. Now I am so used to this and find it very convenient to use.

Fragrance- Another amazing feature of Palmer’s lip balm original is the oh so yummy fragrance. It is sweet and delicious. It smells of cocoa butter and I am sure you would want to lick it the moment you apply it. I like my products with fragrances so I totally love it but if you are not so much into scents then also, it should not bother you as it will fade away soon.

Texture- The good thing about it is that it is very light, you wont feel as if you have applied anything. I am not a fan of sticky products and this product fares very well in this department.

My Experience- Its a non-tinted lip balm with good moisturization. It gives a natural look to your lips without imparting too much shine but just enough hydration. It also contains SPF 15 which is an added bonus. I have dry lips and I keep applying lip-balm regularly so I do not have severe chapped lips.

I cannot really say as to how it would do in healing chapped lips but it instantly moisturizes dry lips. The price is very affordable and they give good quantity of product so definitely it will last you long.

One thing that disappointed me about Palmer’s lip balm original is the use of mineral oil in the lip balm. I mean when there are so many good things to offer then why use mineral oil and add a negative feature to it. Other than this I am very happy with the product.

Things I like about this-

  • Yum fragrance.
  • Affordable.
  • Unique twist up packaging and flat tube.
  • Contains SPF 15.
  • No animal testing done.
  • Soft and moisturising.
  • Lasts long.
  • Prevents dryness.
  • Lightweight formula.
  • Looks natural.
  • Good quantity of product.

Things I dislike about this-

  • It contains mineral oil.

Rating- 4.5/5

Wrapping it up- To summarize, I liked the Palmer’s Lip Balm Original. Its a good addition to my lip balm kitty. I usually prefer non tinted lip balms that can moisturise well and smell good. It has all of this at such an affordable price. So, go ahead and give this one a try this winters.
