It was just yesterday that I was going through my latest review posts and found that I am lacking behind in putting reviews of lip care products. I rushed to my organizer and found this Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm lying cozily in its first slot which I received as a part of promotional offer with Nivea Argan-Nourish body lotion. My Take on Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm- It comes in white colored twist-up stick form which has a blue colored lid. The cap shuts tightly with a click sound making it easy to travel with. It has sweet smell which is mild and it will be liked by people who are not into strong fragrances. I carry it in handbag and by far the cap hasn’t lost inside because of the safe closure. This lip balm is white in color and has a smooth texture which glides on lips like butter. Two swipes of it are enough to layer up my lips with moisture and provide them the much needed moisture. It leaves a slightly glossy finish and the moisture stays on my lips for good 2-3 hours in day time. For night time usage, it stays put till morning and I get soft baby lips when I get up 🙂 . I have used it on my dry and chapped lips and it did a remarkable job in repairing them and gave me better looking lips within 3 days of usage. It doesn’t provide any instant cooling relief as claimed. It’s color-less, so people who like tinted lip-balms might not like it. Due to its soft texture its prone to melt in hot temperature, thus for summers you have to be extra cautious while dealing with it or it might break from bullet. If you layer it up more than required or go with multiple swipes you might witness a whitish cast on lips and it may feel heavy too. Also, it doesn’t come with SPF, and doesn’t allow me to step in sun proudly. So, I keep it for night-time usage and I make sure to apply it every day before I go to sleep.
Overall, It works really great on healing chapped lips and makes them soft and supple within 3 days of continuous application. Don't over-apply or you will end up getting white cast on lips. It might melt in summers owing to its soft texture. If you are looking for tinted lip balms, try their Fruity Shine range.
