What’s your priority while picking kajal?
Me- Blackness!!! *Wink*
The moment this kajal was introduced in Indian market, I knew I had to try this! Being a kohl lover, everything that reads out BLACK is just my next pick (And how could I miss it, it is Super Black 😛 ). I have been using Maybelline the Colossal Kajal Super Black religiously for a long time, and I am all set to tell you how it actually works. Keep reading to know how it fared on me 🙂 –About- It gives you a 2X blacker look in one smooth stroke, that stays intense for up to 16 hours! With light absorbing pigments, the formula delivers 2 times more blackness* for double the intensity. Enriched with oil for super smooth application, it glides on effortlessly, adding a rich, glossy sheen color that stays waterproof and smudgeproof for upto 16 hours. Here’s why you’ll love it-
– 2X Blacker* and Bolder
– 16 Hour Intense.
– Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens users.Price- Rs. 300/-My Take on Maybelline the Colossal Kajal Super Black- The packaging is just opposite to the Colossal kajal basic version; it had more of yellow and less of black on packaging, this one is just the vice-versa. It comes in black and yellow colored cardboard packaging. The retractable kajal pencil is all black this time with yellow text as you can see in the pictures yourself. It’s priced at INR 300/- which might seem bit expensive to many girls out there as the price has been upped 50% if compared to the basic colossal kajal. I am not intending to compare it with the basic version but the comparison is following itself 😛 (Sorry! Can’t help). The Colossal Kajal Super Black stick contains 0.35 gm of product, which I am sure will last me for a good long time as I apply it mostly on my waterline and lower lash line.Well, the first thing I noticed about Maybelline the Colossal Kajal Super Black is that it actually goes blacker in just one stroke. It is more on the creamier matte side, which glides on like a dream as it’s enriched with oil and sets pretty quickly. You have to work fast with it as it sets very fast. It claims to be waterproof and smudge-proof and stays true to its words. You can build up the intensity with 3-4 more swipes only to a set black level. It’s so damn black, like a coal !!! It doesn’t irritate my eyes when used on waterline, I don’t have teary ducts so it stays put for a good time there say around 3 hours. On lower lash line it stays on me for the whole day, from morning to evening it stays put with slight smudging. I am not habitual of rubbing or scratching my eyes so that adds up to the staying power for me 😛 . It clears off easily with any good makeup remover; I make use of Bioderma micellar water 🙂 .I am not really sure if others have figured it out or not but this kajal has micro shimmer particles which can be noticed only when looked closely. You can see them as you swatch it on hands but on eyes they don’t really pop ending in making no noticeable difference! Below is a swatch of Maybelline the Colossal Kajal Super Black along with Colossal Kajal original to give you an idea of how it looks if compared. My camera couldn’t do justice in capturing the real difference but hope you can notice the shimmer presence 🙁 –Have you tried this newly launched Kajal from the house of Maybelline? Are you intending to buy it? 🙂
Overall, an intense black kajal which glides smoothly on eyes and stays on my lower lash line for whole day. Price may seem bit higher but people who aren’t much impressed with the colossal kajal original should give it a try, you may like the new improved version with more blackness.
