Forest Essentials is considered to be the best Indian brand in terms of Luxury Ayurveda. Since I have read and heard a lot about their Facial Ubtan range I really wanted to see it for myself what the rave was all about 🙂 .
I picked “Soundarya” sometime back because the ingredients list was quite intriguing. I am jotting down my experience below, hope it helps 🙂 – Price- INR 1025/- for 50 gm.
About- Forest Essentials Soundarya Facial Ubtan is a gentle exfoliating treatment that is prepared from a unique and ancient Ayurveda recipe including Fennel Seeds, Star Anise, Fenugreek, Saffron, and Lemon Peel for smoothening and softening the skin. By its revitalizing, refreshing & refining actions, this ubtan gives a natural glow to the complexion. Instructions-Packaging- Their products are pure and authentic. Moreover, they are packed simply yet beautifully and reflect a class of their own. It comes housed in a plastic tub packaging with a golden screw cap. It is packed in simple cardboard box with product details printed on front and back. There is a stopper placed on the mouth of the tub so that the product stays in place.
Fragrance- It smells amazing to me, particularly like a milk-mix powder! Haha! I know it may sound funny to you, but that’s how it smells like to me atleast. It’s probably because the combination of pistachios, cashews, saffron is dominating over rest of the ingredients.
Texture- This facial ubtan comes in powdered form. Next, the powder isn’t finely milled, it has got a grainy texture which I find to be very good for exfoliation. How to use it on various skin types-
Dry– Mix it up with Milk/Cream to give that nourishment to your skin.
Normal– Mix it up with Rosewater or Aloevera juice/gel
Oily/Combination– Mix it up with Curd and your skin will be happy.
My Experience- Since my skin type is Dry, I always use milk to form a paste of it. I don’t use it for simply washing my face everyday as I have kept it in my stash for exclusive usage on days I feel like pampering my skin with something extraordinary.
I apply a layer of it on my face and neck, and leave it there for sometime, for example 5 minutes. When it starts drying up, I wet my face a little and start rubbing gently in circular motions. As a result, my skin gets exfoliated nicely. Because of the presence of Haldi, I can clearly notice a brightening effect on the face post-wash each time. Face appears shiny and glowing post usage 🙂 .

Wrapping it up- Forest Essentials Ubtan is a wonderful product which not only looks beautiful but also works well on the skin in making it glowing instantly. It’s a unique ancient recipe which contains the goodness of fenugreek, lemon peel, fennel seeds, saffron, cashews, pistachios and much more. Besides the price tag, I don’t think there’s anything you need to think over before buying this amazing product 🙂 .
